Creating A Discription Of Who We Are.

Prior To adopting a child. We are often asked to prepare a welcome book that will describe our home and who we are. As part of our home study.

I like to put a good dose of reality into who I am. I know that if I take a few moments and ask a few of my closest friends to tell me a few of my good traits and a few of my bad traits. I can come up with a good "reality" of who others "believe I am."

Adding a few of my own touches. To show the creativity and silly character of "Me." Is a lot of fun too.

From time to time. I like to share a little about myself and how we were brought up years ago.

My mom was married and had children prior to meeting my dad after her divorce. Her first husband beat her and the children. He deprived them of food. Let the Celebration of Life begin. We are now into the first day of a brand new year. One filled with hope and discovery.

This year will be whatever we work to make it. Yes I did say the word "Work." It is a proven fact that life takes a lot of will power and hard work to make it all that it can be.

Our children should be learning this also. That they must work hard for what they want to accomplish in life. Everything should not come so easy for them. In the past we have provided so much so quickly for our children that it has created lazy and self centered people.
