In 1991, a magical journey began, and I received the greatest gift of all, I became a mom! After years of traveling down the infertility path filled with so much heartache and pain, I found the right path and it led me to my beautiful daughter, Rebecca Aurora-Rose from Vlore, Albania. Becca is now 18 years old and remains a very bright light in our lives.
In 2001, my husband Larry and I journeyed together to adopt our son, Maxim Alexander, from Semey, Kazakhstan. We cannot begin to tell you what a joy and blessing our son is! Max is now 6 years old and gives the BEST bear hugs in the world!
In 2004, Larry and I returned to Kazakhstan to adopt our youngest son – Logan Yuriy from Taraz. Logan’s adoption journey had the most bumps in the road and you can read in detail about it at www.thekeilins.com Logan is now 3 years old and also is a constant source of joy – who likes “this many kisses” (5) before he goes to bed.
My dream of becoming a mom was fulfilled; it just took some time to realize my children were waiting for me half way around the world! Once the faces of the remaining children touched my heart and soul, I knew that being a part of others’ adoption journeys would be a huge piece of who and what I am.
