Bio
Born way in the north of New York State, in a village somewhere between the St. Lawrence River and the Adirondack mountains, Jupe was adopted as an infant by a couple who already had one daughter biologically their own but really wanted another child. Although they were told they couldn’t have more children, five years after Julie came into their lives, they gave birth to another daughter. It was, is and always will be a generally happy, close-knit, normally dysfunctional family of five, not including various animal members that have come and gone over time.
After seven years in New York City, working mainly in the music industry, Jupe has been exploring, working and learning from the African continent and her people since 1995. For the past two years, she has been working in the humanitarian and development field in Sudan. She is now living in an Indian Ocean Island country, downloading her very full brain-disk of the past many years of experience in Africa, learning what she has learned and trying to figure out a way to give back to the places and people that have given her so much.
Jupe’s passions are the environment, animals, people, learning, dancing, reading, painting, singing, problem solving, laughing... living.
