My name is Lauri. I’m a wife, blogger, and new Mom. My husband and I adopted our toddler daughter from Russia in March 2006. What an amazing and eye opening experience it has been. Prior to becoming a stay-at-home Mom, I worked in the Social Service field. I was a home visitor for Help me Grow for over five years, providing support to families and completing developmental screenings on children ages birth-3. I facilitated a teen-parenting support group and ran an Early Childhood literacy program. Prior to that I was a preschool teacher for fifteen years. I have centered my career on children… all the while waiting for and working towards the day that I would finally be a Mom.
So the day has come and I’m finally a Mom. Join me as I share my parenting experiences, learn from my mistakes, laugh, cry, and tell you about my very favorite person in the world - my little girl. When I’m not bragging about my daughter, I enjoy reading, jazzercise, blogging, eBay shopping, taking walks, and eating chocolate.
