Bio

Greetings! I am very excited to be participating in the Korean Adoption Blog.

What are my qualifications? I am in the unique position of being both a Korean adoptee and the mother of a Korean adoptee.

When I was around nine years old, my parents adopted my sister (also from Korea). The whole experience was ground breaking. On my sister’s arrival day, I stood at the airport window watching the airplanes land and I told my parents that someday I was going to be the mommy waiting at the airport.

Lucky for me, I married a man who didn’t mind being the daddy at the airport and, twenty years after my sister’s arrival, we sat in the international arrival section of the airport with my parents, my sister and my husband’s parents. My son arrived from South Korea and was placed in my arms by our social worker and it was definitely love at first sight. I got to be the mommy at the airport.

The Basics: I am married with one child and three cats. I love to read (almost any kind of book) and to spend time with my family and friends. I work full-time as a Human Resources professional.
